Exam results are a key milestone for young people. Whether they receive the grades they were hoping for, or not, the results can have a massive impact on a young person’s life. They can open the door to the next stage of their journey or close it completely. However, it’s important that they remember not to let their results define them and that there are other things in their life that matter too.
It’s natural to be nervous on result day. Whether you’re feeling ecstatic or disappointed, the fact that you’re receiving your results means that you’ve worked really hard – studying, tackling your weaknesses, trying out past papers and even picking yourself up after disappointments – so you deserve your amazing set of grades.
Preliminary exam results are typically available within 72 hours of your test date. This is because we need to retrieve your exam data from the test location, synchronize it with our systems and run algorithmic analysis on those results to verify them. The official results are then sent to your Learn profile or Certiport dashboard.
Analysing exam data can help you understand trends over time and identify causes of performance dips. This can be helpful to school leaders when they are planning curriculum improvements. For example, a dip in results could indicate that your students are leaving a particular subject due to poor teaching or an unsuitable course structure. Identifying the root cause and finding ways to address it can help your school avoid the problem in the future.
